Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of IT, the IT Project Manager will be a clear communicator with experience of implementing complex customer IT solutions. The individual will engage with customer stakeholders to deliver the successful implementation of solutions and KNAPP business units to deliver IT, Systems and technical support.

The IT Project Manager will understand KNAPP software, systems and configurations to implement projects and find this role stretches their abilities and supports their learning and development within the team to have a positive impact within our business.

While the role is home based, you will be expected to work at KNAPP offices and customer sites within the UK and Europe.

 

Duties responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Decision maker in all logistic, software and IT matters (WMS, WCS, SRC, Hardware and network) respective to a customer project (Time, Budget, Quality)
  • Coordination of all involved employees, departments and external service providers together with the programme manager
  • Project implementation of systems, software and IT
  • Project consultant for solution engineering, testing, implementation and delivery to customer for acceptance
  • Support the development of others
  • Manage and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Integrate with other business units to support an integrated approach to the project delivery
  • Main contact person for customers relating to all software, IT and logistics matters during realisation and ramp-up phase
  • Ensure the software and layout / design matches
  • Knowledge of software and IT specification documents of the project and can discuss these in detail with the stakeholders of the project
  • Validation / plausibility of specifications and other relevant specifications
  • Driving the acceptance of the specification by the customer
  • Acceptance of software releases before installation on the customer system (test / live environment)
  • Knowledge of the limits (system and control limits) of the defined scope of supply and identification and management of change requests
  • Responsible for creating a training plan, together with the core team and the customer, for the customer's basic and detailed training
  • Organise scheduled on-site tests and moderate detail reconciliation based on the test plan to inform all stakeholders about upcoming test assignments
  • Knowledge transfer to the on-site realisation of the project together with the PMA and the project team (from project planning to ramp-up)
  • Validate project goals together with project core team members
  • Creating, monitoring and adapting adequate project plans together with core project team members
  • Report to PMA in the event of delays of contractually agreed deadlines or major milestones as well as deviations in the project budget
  • Manage risks, crisis avoidance and mitigate actions together with the project core team members

  • Conducting the project marketing together with PMA and project core team members
  • Provide regular project status updates regarding software and IT
  • Agreement or execution of controlling measures together with the leads of the specialist departments / subcontractors / service providers internally and locally
  • Further development of project organisation and project culture together with PMA and project core team members
  • Escalate any problems that can not be solved within the project organisation but have a significant influence on the project's success
  • Transfer of project knowledge to the parent organisation together with PMA, project core team members and internal stakeholders
  • Responsible for ensuring customer involvement and ongoing status monitoring
