WHAT YOU GET TO DO

 

  • Be a team member and provide first-class maintenance and support to our customers on operation and maintenance of automated storage and retrieval systems and storage and picking systems installed at our customer’s locations
  • Demonstrate proven experience dealing with electro-mechanical faults and failures and understand the importance of providing preventative maintenance services as part of a resident service and support system
  • Provide 24 hr maintenance support to customers or according to customer schedule
  • In conjunction with the customer’s on-site maintenance department, provide efficient response to Customer, following a first-time right policy
  • Participate in site-related meetings as and when required, with both the Customer and KNAPP
  • Provide emergency breakdown and maintenance support
  • Create strong effective working relationships with customers and their operational agents to enable KNAPP to provide a first-class service
  • Achieve performance standards for output, speed of response and quality of repair and workmanship
  • Provide maintenance support on other issues, including installed system

 

Essential Skills and Functions:

  • Mechanical strip-down/re-assembly, basic field wiring, machine calibration and system testing
  • Ability to work within an assigned timeframe to complete reactive repairs
  • Interaction with on-site management, keeping them informed of repair and maintenance progression and addressing their concerns in a professional manner
  • Hands-on ownership of issues to achieve a quick time resolution
  • Ability to interpret and work with electrical circuit diagrams
  • Appreciation of health & safety considerations as related to given tasks and ability to carry out risk assessments successfully
  • Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read assembly drawings
  • Operation of hand tools and ability to assemble parts onto equipment
  • Ability to follow set up instructions, assembly drawings and check lists  
  • Attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers
  • Superior communication skills
  • Computer literate with basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing role requirements
  • Appreciation of cultural diversity

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain quality of service by ensuring good quality communication with both customers and KNAPP
  • Ensure that reports are well written and legible
  • Implement site quality procedures, safety procedures, and any statutory procedures
  • Hold regular meetings with the Maintenance Operations Manager to discuss activities and progress
  • Provide maintenance service support, including to the installed system
  • Ensure that all spares usage issues are logged accurately and timely with the customer and KNAPP spare parts team
  • Ensure that supplied tools and equipment are well cared for and are always in a presentable/usable condition
  • Be flexible and use skills and aptitudes to the best of your abilities
  • Ensure that all timesheets and documentation are correct and legible, reflect accurate job numbers, and are presented to KNAPP supervisor on a weekly basis for sign off   
  • Willing to travel as and where required or requested
  • Train customer’s maintenance team

 

WHAT YOU HAVE

 

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a relevant industry or service
  • Valid driving license
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Proven track record working independently and on customers sites

 

Working Conditions and Environment:

  • Overtime as required by work
  • Travel is required
  • Passport or ability to obtain passport
  • Professional etiquette is required at all times
  • Physical requirements may include:
  • sitting, squatting, walking, reaching out to arm’s length, reaching over-head, lifting between 50-100 pounds, and reading
