WHAT YOU GET TO DO

 

The Maintenance Shift Supervisor manages a team of Resident Maintenance Technicians, along with commercial activities, while providing industrial Electrical/Mechanical expertise. This position is part of a leadership team that works to maximize equipment utilization and efficiency. This role also has a key function in the development of our Maintenance Team and implementation of KNAPP processes.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Maintain standards of service by ensuring quality communications with customers and colleagues.
  • Responsible for team management involving interviewing, hiring, performance management, and terminations.  
  • Responsible for implementation of site quality, safety, and any procedures.
  • Partner with suppliers and ensure their maintenance visits are kept up-to-date.
  • Ensure that all company equipment supplied is well cared-for and always in a presentable/usable/maintained condition.
  • Ensure that all maintenance technicians time sheets and documentation are accurate.
  • Responsible for completing all correct job numbers and reports on a daily basis that are legible and accurate.
  • Responsible for maintaining all communications with the Customer’s site coordinator and employees at all times.
  • Respond to electro-mechanical faults and provide technical assistance. 
  • Respond to customer or supervisor’s emergency calls. 
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures/processes in all activities; take ownership of issues and see them through to a successful completion.
  • Set up and calibrate precision automation equipment.
  • Facilitate installation of conveyors and special machines. 
  • Facilitate meetings with the Resident Site Manager and/or Site Maintenance Manager to discuss activities and progress.
  • Provide maintenance service support to your team, co-workers, and for the Customer’s installed system.
  • Ensure that all spare parts usage issues are logged appropriately, and promptly, with the KNAPP spare parts team.
  • Interpret and work with electrical circuit diagrams, mechanical drawings and blueprints, and read assembly drawings.
  • Provide leadership and ownership for the safety of your team, and all others in the facility as it applies to KNAPP supplied equipment.
  • Responsible for coaching and providing instruction, as needed. 

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • Have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Have excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills 
  • Have a Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience 
  • 5-10 years of verifiable progressive experience as Maintenance Repairman, Maintenance Electrician, Machine Repairman, or Industrial Maintenance Engineer
  • Verifiable experience providing repairs on various types of machinery systems, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems (e.g. repair and maintenance of electrical system with voltage such as 480vac, 240vac, 120vac, 48vdc, 24vdc, and hardware to include but not limited to Power Supplies, VFD’s and PLC’s (preferably Siemens))
  • Authorized to work in the U. S
  • Have a Passport or the ability to obtain passport
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) and or (English/German) preferred, but not required.
